Training Garage – Paid Technical Automotive and Shop Management Training
My name is Pete Jones and I manage ALLDATA’s Learning and Development Department. I’ve been with the company for over twenty years and have spent a majority of that time with the training team. In fact, I was one of our original “tele-trainers”. Now, I help develop and manage the team that creates product training for customers as well as our employees. Training is a rewarding field to be in. In my opinion, there isn’t anything more satisfying than seeing the light bulb come on in someone’s mind when they begin understanding a concept or how to use something more effectively.
One of the interesting things about learning is that people have different ways of doing it. Some learn by being told, some by reading, and some by “hands on learning.” But these are general categories. No two persons are alike. Every person has their own way of learning, which poses a challenge for those of us in the Learning and Development field. The question we always seem to ask ourselves is: How do we develop courses or classes that meet the learning styles of most people?
We strive to do that at ALLDATA by providing interactive web-based training courses through our ALLDATA Training Garage® as well as live, instructor-led courses using Webex and the Internet.
ALLDATA Training Garage – Free Product Training
You can find over 30 courses for ALLDATA products in our Training Garage. These courses are free and available to our ALLDATA customers and are accessible with your subscription to the product. The Training Garage tracks your progress and provides certificates of completion when you complete a course. And perhaps most importantly, the Training Garage is available 24/7 to fit your schedule.
The courses in the Training Garage contain both audio and text and many include interactive aspects to keep you involved in the learning process. ALLDATA product courses run from 10 to 35 minutes in length and have user controls so that you can pause or rewind as necessary
Any current ALLDATA customer can register to access the courses for ALLDATA products by going to: training.alldata.com and click on New User Registration. You will need your ALLDATA account number available on your ALLDATA bill. If you cannot find your account number, contact your ALLDATA Account Manager to get it at 800-859-3292.
The web-based training courses on ALLDATA’s Training Garage provide a convenient way to get training. However, if web-based training is not your thing, we also offer virtual training, which is internet-based training with a live trainer using Webex.
Virtual Traing – With a Live ALLDATA Training Rep
Virtual training is like going to a class room on the Internet. A live instructor will greet you and train you to use the ALLDATA products. Classes are held at regular times each week. You can get a list of classes and schedule for your time zone here: http://support.alldata.com/alldata-live-online-classes.
Most of our customers start out with the courses on the Training Garage, which will answer 80-90 percent of your initial product questions. Virtual training provides an opportunity to learn more and ask additional questions you may have. You’ll be able to talk to a live instructor for quick a reminder on how to use a specific feature in one of our products. You can contact the live trainers at 800-684-6840.
