Part Three: Customer Pick-up
If there is one area of using ALLDATA that is more overlooked than others, it has to be the
vehicle pick-up area. Yet, it affords you an excellent opportunity to put your shop in a league
apart from all the others.
For all but the simplest of jobs, it will be worthwhile to offer your customer printouts
used in repairing their vehicle. They will be appreciative -- and impressed -- that you made
the offer and that you care about their understanding of the job you did. Illustrations,
specifications and detailed step-by-step repair instructions provide the information you need
to demonstrate how the work was completed, how much effort was involved and the technical
knowledge required. Consumers are more likely to return and recommend your shop to others when
they understand the value you deliver! ALLDATA users who follow this practice report a high level
of customer referrals, and for good reason.

your professionalism. All repair procedures are fully detailed using a step-by-step format allowing
for easier explanation and review with a customer. Many ALLDATA shops use these instructions and
illustrations when delivering a repair quote to the customer.
If you have not already done so, this is also a good time to give your customer the maintenance
schedule for the next factory-recommended interval, or the TSB list for the vehicle. The important
point is this: Give your customer a reason to return to YOUR shop for their next service need.
