‘78 Chevy Camaro, Rocker Arm Torque Spec

Q:
I would like to know what the correct torque specification would be for the rocker arm studs for a ‘78 Chevy Camaro with a 305 v-8 engine.

A: The rocker arm studs on your vehicle do not have a torque specification. The studs are press fitted, meaning once they are pushed into place they do not move. If the stud is moving there is a problem, or it has been modified with a threaded stud. I can’t help but wonder if you what you really want to know is what the valve adjustment is. GM does it differently , other manufacters tell you to tighten the rocker arm nut or bolt down to a specified torque value. On GM engines of your type the valve adjustment is achieved differently. I would suggest buying a repair manual for the correct procedure.
