Customer Spotlight: Judy Pittman, Beale Air Force Base From Horses to Horse Power!
By Kathi Kankis
Judy Pittman manages the Auto Hobby Center at Beale Air Force
Base. It’s a busy shop (often scheduled a few weeks out) that
maintains the vehicles of Beale airmen and their families. But,
Judy helps the families in other surprising ways as well. When I
tracked her down, she was brushing horses at the Dry Creek Saddle
Club. The Saddle Club stables horses owned by Beale Air Force
“When I’m not at the Auto Hobby Center, you can find me at the
Dry Creek Saddle Club helping to take care of the 300 acres
that currently stables twenty-two horses,” says Judy. “I have 4
½ horses myself (one on the way), so you can typically find me
on base from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.”
Judy has been managing the Auto Hobby Center— a 13-bay,
eight-lift shop— for nearly eight years. With two ASE certified
technicians and five additional staff members, the Auto Hobby
Center has been offering exceptional auto repair and maintenance
services since the early 1950’s. Plus, it’s a place for airmen to
work on their own vehicles.
“Base personnel and their families are welcome to come to the
shop and perform all their own auto maintenance, using the
shop’s tools and equipment,” Judy explains. “They can also ask
our technicians for advice and consultation or to check their
work using the center’s ALLDATA Repair® product.”
The Auto Hobby Shop started out as a MOTOR ALLDATA customer.
They’ve been using ALLDATA for over nine years now. At the
beginning of 2014, they upgraded to ALLDATA Repair Online.
Judy is very happy with the online version, saying, “The online
version of ALLDATA Repair is ten times better than the CD
version. It updates more regularly and effortlessly – saving
the shop an amazing amount of time. Plus, ALLDATA provides such
excellent customer support. They helped me get set-up and
trained. I am extremely happy to have a direct relationship
Beale Auto Hobby Center is a certified Napa® Auto Care Center and
is available to active duty, retired military, DoD civilians,
contract employees and NAF personnel. As part of the 9th Force
Support Squadron (FSS), they are the recipient of the Lemay and
Eubank awards, honors given to the best FSS in the command and
that are recognized Air Force wide.
“It never fails, when someone is deployed everything seems to
break,” says Judy. “We’re so honored to be able to help
families in their spouse’s absence.”
ALLDATA applauds the Beale Air Force Base Auto Hobby Center for
its support of military families. And, if these families need a
place to stable their horse — we recommend they put him or her in
the dedicated, capable hands of Judy Pittman.
