CAIS Certification Program

What is the CAIS Certification Program?

  • It is a test that assesses how well you know, and can use, ALLDATA Repair.
  • Passing the test means you have the skills and knowledge needed to use ALLDATA Repair at a professional level and are a Certified Automotive Information Specialist.
  • The passing score for CAIS Certification is 80%. 

How does a CAIS Certification help me?

  • If you are a Shop Owner or Manager: Having your Technicians take the test helps you determine if they know how to effectively use ALLDATA Repair.
  • If you are a Technician, Service Writer or Student: Having your CAIS Certification tells your employer or prospective employer that you can use the program at a professional level.

Can anyone become certified?

  • The CAIS tests are designed for current customers using ALLDATA Repair in their shop or students enrolled in a vocational training program that uses ALLDATA Repair as part of the curriculum. 
  • You will need to enter a valid ALLDATA Account Number in order to complete the certification process and receive your CAIS patch.

For Shops

Test Instructions and Links

After reading the instructions, select the test that matches the version of ALLDATA Repair that your shop uses.

Instructions

  • Fill out the registration form with your name spelled exactly as you want it to appear on your CAIS Certificate.
    • Your ALLDATA Account number can be found on your monthly invoice, or you can call Customer Support for help.
    • You must include your Shop Name and Zip Code, and your shop phone number.
  • Have ALLDATA Repair open as you take the test. Many of the test questions require you to look up information or use a specific feature of the program to find the correct answer.
  • If you have any questions, email caistest@alldata.com and be sure to include your ALLDATA account number and shop phone number.
  • Test results are available immediately after completing the test. 
    • If you do not pass, you may take it again after 24 hours.

Certificates and Patches

Once you pass the test:

  • The certificate can be printed immediately or saved to a drive to be printed later.
  • If you would like to receive a CAIS patch for your shop uniform, please email caistest@alldata.com with your name, the date you took the test and your ALLDATA account number and shop phone number.
    • A patch will be sent to your shop address on file; please allow up to four weeks for processing.

  • Your instructor will provide you with the ALLDATA Account Number and Password to enter on the test site. 
  • Have ALLDATA Repair open as you take the test. Many of the test questions require you to look up information or use a specific feature of the program to find the correct answer.
  • Test results are available immediately after completing the test.
    • If you do not pass, ALLDATA allows the test to be retaken after 24 hours. Ask your instructor what the class policy is on retaking the test.
