Why is ALLDATA ending support for Manage Elite (DVD)?

We have already started to experience catalog failures and compatibility issues with the latest versions of Windows. Although we have tried to maintain the program for our long-time customers as long as possible, the time has come when the choice is no longer in our hands.

What alternative do you recommend?

We encourage our customers to make a decision sooner rather than later, in order to give your shop ample time to receive unlimited training, the ability to learn the new system at your own pace and ensure a smooth transition.

Depending on the needs of your shop, ALLDATA offers the following solutions:

ALLDATA Shop Manager - A quickly growing intermediate shop management solution that includes all the basics you would expect, such as customer and vehicle history, estimating and invoicing capabilities, integration with electronic parts catalogs and basic reporting.

ALLDATA MANAGE Online -  A fully featured shop management solution that builds upon the features of Shop Manager by including more advanced features like parts inventory management, work in progress job scheduling and tracking, in-depth reporting, customer communication and marketing functionality through integrations with industry leading CRM solutions for text and email campaigns, etc.

Are there any special offers for transitioning to a different service?

ALLDATA is offering significant limited time discounted pricing for ALLDATA MANAGE Online and Shop Manager subscriptions for users transitioning from ALLDATA Manage Elite (DVD).

Pricing varies based on other subscribed services, corporate affiliations and other shop specific use cases. Please contact your ALLDATA Account Manager at 1-800-859-3282 or submit a request to receive a callback for specific pricing information.

What will happen to all of my customer records?

On January 1st 2024, the Manage Elite (DVD) program will go into read-only mode and will no longer allow you to create or modify documents in the system. However, the program will still allow you to reference and print previous documents for a limited time after this subscription expiration date. Unfortunately, after this date, ALLDATA will no longer be able to assist with any problems that may occur while attempting to access this data and have no guarantee when the system will cease to function. We recommend reviewing, exporting or printing any important documents and discontinue using the application as soon as possible. 

How can I export my data from Manage Elite (DVD)

You can export your data to a .CSV or .XML file by following the export instructions below. If you need assistance with this process, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer support team, and they will be more than happy to guide you through it. 

To generate the Data Export file:
  1. From the File menu, select Export….

  2. Select Excel Export or XML Data Export.

  3. Select the type of customer from the Customer drop-list.

  4. Select All records or Select records by date range.

  5. Select Exclude Counter Sales from this file if you do not want counter sale data included.

  6. If you did not select all records, enter a date range.

  7. Click OK.

  8. Type a file name and select where to save the file.

  9. Click Save.

NOTE: Exporting data through this method will not allow you to import it into a different ALLDATA system. In order to transfer your information to Shop Manager or MANAGE Online, ALLDATA Technical Support must complete a Database Conversion.

Can I transfer my data to one of your alternative systems?

When you transition to MANAGE Online or Shop Manager you can make a request for the ALLDATA Technical Support team to complete a database conversion that will transfer your data to the new system. The information that will transfer to the new system is listed below:

Transition to MANAGE Online

Database conversion from Manage Elite (DVD) will transfer the following data:

Vehicle Data - YMME (Year, Make, Model, Engine), VIN, license, owner

Customer Data - Name, address, phone

Inventory Data - Description, cost, retail value (if available)

Suppliers - Name, contact, address, phone, email, notes (if available from previous SMS)

Historical Data - Repair tickets from previous SMS (Does not include full Work Description or Advisory Notes)

Transition to Shop Manager

Database conversion from Manage Elite (DVD) will transfer the following data:

Vehicle data - YMME (Year, Make, Model, Engine), VIN, License

Customer Data - Name, Address, Phone, Email

Will customer support still be available for Manage Elite (DVD) users?

Our customer support team will continue to assist Manage Elite (DVD) users until the sunset date. After the sunset date, we will no longer provide support for Manage Elite (DVD), but our team will remain available to help you with any other product-related inquiries. 

Will there be any updates or bug fixes before the sunset date? 

While we will continue to provide customer support until the sunset date, there will be no further updates or bug fixes for the Manage Elite (DVD) product. We encourage users to begin transitioning to alternative solutions as soon as possible. 

What are the contract terms if I switch to the new online platform?

When you switch to our new online platform, you will be required to agree to the platform's terms of service and any applicable contractual terms. Typically, these terms may include a 12-month subscription duration, payment terms, and termination conditions. For more specific information on the contract terms for our new online platforms, please contact your ALLDATA Account Manager at 1-800-859-3282 or submit a request to receive a callback

Can I try one of the new systems before I make a decision?

We offer a 10 day free trial for our new Manage Online or Shop Manager products. This trial period allows you to explore the products features and functionality to determine if it is a suitable replacement for Manage Elite (DVD). Can I keep my Manage DVD subscription active while I test out the new online platform during the trial period? 

Yes, you can keep your Manage DVD subscription active while you test out the new online platform during the trial period. However, please note that the Manage DVD service will still be discontinued on the sunset date, and you will need to transition to an alternative solution before that time. 

Are there any demo videos available to help me understand the new online platform's features and functionalities?
