New A/C Compressor Won’t Run on Lexus RX350
Vehicle: 2013 Lexus RX 350, AWD, V6-3.5L (2GR-FE), Automatic Transmission/Transaxle
Mileage: 126,551 Miles
Problem: The Lexus was in the shop because the A/C was blowing warm air. After the compressor was replaced, the A/C still would not work.
Case Details: The technician replaced the compressor with an aftermarket part, evacuated the system and then charged it with the correct amount of refrigerant. But after the repairs were complete, the compressor would not run and a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) appeared: B1422 - Open or Short in Compressor Lock Sensor Circuit. The technician then called ALLDATA Tech-Assist.
The Tech-Assist consultant said the DTC B1422 indicated an open or short in the compressor lock sensor circuit. To evaluate that issue, he recommended load-testing the SSR+ and SSR- circuits, which would likely result in locating a damaged wire between the A/C amplifier (F50) and the A/C compressor.
The technician load-tested the wires between the A/C amplifier (F50) and the compressor and found that the wire pin at the SSR- connector was pushed back.
Confirmed Repair: The technician repaired the connector, and the A/C worked great. Easy fix!
