Creating Shortcuts, Favorites and Bookmarks

Easily come back to any website page by adding it to your Shortcuts, Favorites or Bookmarks.

 

Choose one or both:

Create a shortcut on your computer desktop

  1. Move your cursor to any blank space on your desktop. Right-click on the blank space >> Click New >> Shortcut.

  2. In Type the location of the item, enter the URL (website address) >> Click Next.

  3. In Type a name for this shortcut, enter the name that you want to display under the shortcut icon >> Click Finish.

  4. The shortcut icon will appear on the computer desktop.

Note: Clicking the shortcut icon will open your program using your default Internet browser (such as Internet Explorer or Google Chrome).

 

Add a site to your Internet favorites or bookmarks

Follow the instructions for the Internet browser that you use:

Internet Explorer

  1. Open the website page that you want to add to your Favorites.

  2. Click Favorites >> Add to Favorites. 

  3. The Add a Favorite box will popup with a default name in the Name field.

    • To keep the default name, click Add.

    • To change the name, enter the desired label in the Name field >> Click Add.

  4. To return to the desired page in the future, click Favorites >> Click the name that you selected for the webpage.

    • Note: New Favorites are added to the bottom of the Favorites list. Click any Favorite and drag it to a higher spot on the list, if desired.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open the website page that you want to Bookmark.

  2. Click Bookmarks >> Bookmark This Page.

  3. The Page Bookmarked box will popup with a default name in the Name field.

    • To keep the default name, click Done.

    • To change the name, enter the desired label in the Name field >> Click Done.

  4. To return to the desired page in the future, click Bookmarks >> Click the name that you selected for the webpage.

    • Note: New Bookmarks are added to the bottom of the Bookmark list. Click any Bookmark and drag it to a higher spot on the list, if desired.
