Looking up the Free Space on the Hard Drive

To look up the amount of available space left on your computer's hard drive:

  1. Click Start >> Computer or My Computer.

  2. Under Hard Disk Drives, right-click on Local Disk (C:).

    • Note: If you have customized your computer's drives, it may be a different drive letter.

  3. Click Properties.

  4. The Local Disk (C:) Properties window, on the General tab, lists the following:

    • Used space

    • Free space

    • Capacity (used and free space combined)
