About Justin
My three brothers and I were raised and homeschooled in our country house in the Gatineau hills of Quebec. Our mom, a stay-at-home parent, made sure we finished our schoolwork and chores before exploring the outdoors. My dad worked a government 8-4 job to pay the bills and to keep enough food in our fridge to feed 4 sets of hallow legs. While he preferred building cabins to fixing engines, he taught me the meaning of hard work. From a young age, I loved puzzles, Lego, and racing games. In my teens, this interest evolved, and I began to see vehicles as complex 3D puzzles you could drive.

This fascination led me to a career in the automotive industry. I started by detailing cars and soon entered an apprenticeship with Mazda, earning my Red Seal certification and becoming a Master Technician over eight years. Seeking new challenges, I spent a year at Nissan, six months as a teacher's aide in an automotive program, and then five years with Kia. At Kia, I became a Master Technician with EV/HEV certification and specialized in electrical diagnostics. The satisfaction of solving problems that stumped other technicians drove me to learn more. After 15 years in dealerships, I became a lead tech at a private shop, where the challenge of working on all makes and models was exhilarating.

The idea of working from home in the auto industry has always seemed out of reach as a tech. When I saw an ad for a bilingual technical assistance position with ALLDATA, I applied immediately. This role opened the door for me to solve puzzles daily while having more quality time with my wife and three children.
