Wrecked Infiniti Q50 Fails to Communicate – No Start

Vehicle: 2017 Infiniti Q50, AWD, L4-2.0L Turbo, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle

Mileage: 126,900 miles

Problem: This vehicle was towed to the shop. The customer said that his car had been stolen and when he got it back, the right front fender and right front door were damaged, the right curtain airbag was deployed, and the engine wouldn’t start. The customer also said the car was running fine before they stole it, and that the thieves had made a key then drove the vehicle for three days before wrecking the car and abandoning it.

Vehicle: 2012 Toyota Sequoia, 4WD, V8-5.7L (3UR-FBE), Flex Fuel, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle

Mileage: 189,488 miles

Problem: This Sequoia was brought in because of an exceptionally long cranking time only on cold starts. Once started, the engine ran well with no misfires. The malfunction indicator light (MIL) was on.

Problem: A Dodge Ram owner brought his truck to the shop because the malfunction indicator light (MIL) was on. He had already taken it to another shop, which found evaporative system diagnostic trouble code P0441 -- Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow. They replaced the Evaporative System Integrity Monitor (ESIM) with a factory part, but the MIL came back on almost immediately.
