Bringing the Wrong Kind of Thump
TRENDING TSB
The only thing thumping in your Pacifica should be the sound system. But owners of certain 2023-2024 Chrysler Pacificas may find their front suspension adding a percussion section every time they drive over a bump. According to Chrysler Technical Service Bulletin 02-007-24 Rev. A, a distorted upper spring isolator can cause a front-end rattle, thump, or clunk on vehicles built from May 1, 2023 through Jan. 8, 2024.
Before the suspension gets its own record deal, Chrysler instructs technicians to inspect both front strut upper spring isolators for deformation. If either is distorted, the repair involves disassembling the affected strut assembly and replacing the deformed isolator. The updated replacement uses a two-piece design in place of the original one-piece isolator. If neither isolator is deformed, the bulletin does not apply, and normal diagnosis should continue.
Once repaired, the Pacifica can leave the beat to the speakers. Because turning up the radio still isn’t a repair procedure.
The detailed repair procedure is included in the TSB.
