Porsche Panamera 4 A/C Not Cooling After Condenser Replacement
Vehicle: 2015 Porsche Panamera 4 (970), V6-3.6L, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle
Mileage: 131,995 miles
Problem: The customer's A/C stopped cooling, and the shop diagnosed a leaking A/C condenser. Unfortunately, the A/C did not blow cold after replacing the condenser and recharging the system to the correct specification.
Case Details: Although the system was fully charged, the compressor would not engage. There were no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) present in any module. After checking for power and grounds and finding no clear issue, the technician sought assistance from ALLDATA Tech-Assist.
A Tech-Assist consultant explained that on this Porsche model, the system disables the compressor after a low-charge event, and it must be reset. The technician was instructed to perform "compressor reset" and "compressor run-in" procedures using a scan tool.
Confirmed Repair: With his scan tool, the technician accessed the A/C control module and performed the "compressor reset" and "compressor run-in" procedures. After that was successfully done, the A/C compressor began working normally again and cold air pleasantly flowed from the vents. Easy fix!
