Ram Funk: Musty Odors Present in Hot/Humid Conditions
TRENDING TSB
2006-2007 Dodge Ram Customers have reported a musty odor in their vehicles, especially in hot and humid conditions. This smell appears when leaves or other foreign material blocks the drain for the cooling coil housing. Dodge has issued tech bulletin 24-006-06 with a solution of cleaning the evaporator coil, applying a specialized cleaner and protective coating, and ensuring proper drainage. Left unaddressed, the trapped moisture can lead to microbial growth within the HVAC system, compounding odor issues and potentially affecting system efficiency. This comprehensive procedure not only improves cabin air quality but also means you can stop giving the stink-eye to your dog every time you start the truck!.
The detailed repair procedure is included in the TSB.
